Aboriginal Sport Cirlcle appoints new executive director
Aboriginal Sport Circle
Lyle Daniels, Chair of the Aboriginal Sport Circle, is pleased to announce the appointment of Virginia Doucett as Executive Director of the ASC for a period of two years effective 2 April 2007.
A member of the M'ikmaq First Nation, Virginia has a life-long love of sport, having competed in the Canada Games in Volleyball, held the Women's Open Squash Championship for the Atlantic Provinces, and been named the Athlete of the Decade while at the University of New Brunswick. She is also an inductee into the Saint John Sports Hall of Fame for New Brunswick in Basketball.
Virginia comes to us from several years in the tourism industry, recently as the Executive Director of Aboriginal Tourism Canada and many years with the Canadian Tourism Commission. She also has experience with Parks Canada and the Canadian military. Virginia holds a B.A. from St. Mary's University and an MBA in marketing from Dalhousie Unive
