Building on our strengths: Aboriginal women and Leadership workshops
Aboriginal women have diverse knowledge, experience, perspectives and connections that can enhance program planning, decision-making and organizational governance. To help address this gap, CAAWS, in collaboration with the Aboriginal Sport Circle and a working group of female Aboriginal leaders, developed the Building On Our Strengths – Aboriginal Women and Leadership workshop.

New ParticipACTION Resource From Research to Action
Each year, the Active Healthy Kids Canada Report Card examines physical activity opportunities for kids all across Canada. The role of the Report Card is to consolidate research knowledge to drive social action for policy change, by informing messaging, policies, programs and research initiatives that can increase physical activity opportunities for children and youth.

New CAAWS Resource Gives “Voice” to Young Women’s Experiences
Despite efforts to promote the importance of active living, participation rates of girls and young women remain low. A new resource from the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) provides direct insight into the experiences of adolescent girls, and recommendations on how to create positive programs and physical activity environments to make a difference in their lives.
