Sport has allowed me
to develop important skills for living and learning in the
modern world, and is an outlet for these skills as they
continue to develop.

Your generous contribution will be used to assist
in the financing of a number of new ventures. These include: the
upcoming training camps for the Canadian National Lacrosse Team,
continuing my education at law school next year, and improving
my coaching qualifications so that I will one day be able to put
back into Canadian sport even a fraction of what I have been fortunate
to receive myself.
Sport has always held a special place in my life. My father was
a member of Canada's Nation Soccer team and as long as I can remember
in our family, fun has been synonymous with sport. It is hard
for me to believe that something so enjoyable could have brought
so many positive things into my life.
After entering Queen's University as a varsity basketball player,
I was introduced to lacrosse by a teammate. Presently, I am the
proud captain and player coach of the two-time defending OUA Lacrosse
Champions.
In addition, I am a member of the Ontario Provincial Lacrosse
Team and have recently begun to attend training camp for the Canadian
National Lacrosse Team. I also strongly believe that much of my
success in academics is related to my sporting experience.
Sport has allowed me to develop important skills for living and
learning in the modern world, and is an outlet for these skills
as they continue to develop.
I would again like to thank CAAWS and NIKE for this award, and
would like to commend them for their work inspiring and supporting,
present and future Canadian Athletes.
Yours, Anne Benedetti
