Grant-A-Week WINNER
Lia Johnson - Squash
Hi, I'm Lia Johnson; I live in the Yukon and participate
in lessons three times a week at our local squash club. In
addition to that I am on Yukon's under 12 girls representative
soccer team.
This fall I received "Sportsperson of the year" from Squash Yukon.
I also attended a tournament the 1999 Jesters in Edmonton this
fall where I placed constellation.

Living in the Yukon makes the travelling cost higher
than in other places. I will be using the grant money for my travelling
and lesson costs.
The goal of our training is to attend the Nationals this spring.
The junior early morning program contains roughly 15 kids and
teenagers. Half are females and I am the youngest female participating
in the program.
