South Queens Junior High School Wildcats
Girls "B" Soccer Team, Voila!
The "B" team is made up of girls who did not quite
make the first cut for the "A" team. This often includes younger
players and first time players (often, not always). The "A" team
gets to wear the new uniforms, they get to take all their players
on the bus, and they have a lot of competition and play a lot
of games. You know something though? We did the absolute best
we could, and we are sure proud of what we accomplished.
Here
are all the members of the South Queens Junior High School
Wildcats Girls "B" soccer team. The girls are starting from
the left, bottom row: Sarah, Ashley, Faye, Stephanie, Ashley,
Becky, Michelle, Lauren. Top row: Amber, Arran, Sarah, Nizzy,
Erin, Kayleigh, Justine, Lacey, Krystal.
We played in the rain, we played
in the sun, and we played in cold weather. And you know what?
We loved it. Soccer is the BEST sport, and baby, we played, and
will continue to play! We had a great season this year, losing
only 3 games! What we accomplished, with a coach who worked full
time and had practices running into the evenings was more than
anyone really expected, especially that "A" team. By the end of
the fall everyone was pretty tuckered out, but what a feeling!
Knowing that some of these players will go on to play in high
school and hopefully university (because they sure have the drive
and the talent) is a great pleasure and as always, the team is
looking forward to the autumn of 2000 season.
With the money that the Nike
grant-a-week program has given our team, we can have some really
great soccer workshops, and maybe even use some of the money towards
finally getting new uniforms (along with a whole lot of fundraising
activities for that one!!!). We proved that though we were not
chosen for the top team, we ended up on top! Thanks everyone for
a great year, and heres to the future!!!
