Karissa Wedd continues her domination of the Junior Women's jump scene in Canada and the World. She broke her own Girls 3 jump record twice in 1999, one of those times, doing so winning the 1999 Junior US Masters event in Pine Mountain, Georgia. She continued her quest for Gold at the 1999 Americas Challenge, in Mexico City, claiming the victory in the jump event. 1998 was Karissa's first year on the Canadian Junior National Team. She posted an excellent season with Gold Medal victories at the Pan American Championships in Winnipeg and the Junior World Championships in Dijon, France.
