Grant-A-Week WINNER
Youville Centre

We recently completed six week session of a program called "On the Move". Every Tuesday we met for an hour and a half of recreation, food, fun and companionship.

We are proud to say our program was a great success! One of the unique things about "On the Move" was that it was non-competitive. It didn't matter if you were a star soccer player or that you could slam dunk the basketball. In fact, once we got into our games we often lost track of the score altogether.

Most of the girls agree it's fun to play sports without worrying about the boys teasing you or hogging the ball!

One of the highlights every week was enjoying a healthy snack. We all worked up an appetite after exercising and it was great to have juice, veggies, bagels and fruit waiting. During our snack we would often discuss what foods were good to eat when you need quick energy or when you're on the go. We also got a great chance to get to know each other. We discussed serious topics like body image and eating disorders. But there was lots of time for fun and talking about family, friends, music, and movies.

Now it's time for our new session to begin. Can't wait to reunite with familiar faces and greet some new ones!
