Grant-A-Week WINNER
Caitlind Kot - Figure Skating
Hello.
My name is Caitlind Kot. I am 11 years old and I am in grade six.
My favourite subject is social studies and computers. My best
subject is math. I live in Lakefield Ontario and I go skating
in Peterborough. I started skating when I was in grade two and
I started figure skating one and a half years ago. In the past
year I have put in many hours.
I love to skate because I get to do solos, compete,
dance and jump. I love to jump but most of all have fun. I have
just started to land flips and my coach said I could do a double
if I could just remember to bring my arms in.
I will also be starting my Axel soon this is one
of my goals for this winter. The last dance I past was the swing
dance and I plan to try the Fiesta Tango and the Willow Waltz
very soon.
By March of 2002 my goal is to have all my senior
bronze dances past.
In this past year I have won four medals, one gold,
two silver and abronze, two of them were for my Free Skate. My
goals for someday are to compete in the Canadians, the worlds
and the Olympics to make Canada proud.
I will be using the grant for more coaching time.
My coach's name is Amy Phillips. Amy is very creative.
Thank you CAAWS/ Nike for helping me get closer
to my goals and dreams.
