Kanata Academy Girls Volleyball Team

At the beginning of May 2001, the Kanata Academy Girls Volleyball team attended a tournament at Hillel Academy in Ottawa, Ontario. They played 6 games, winning one and performing well in others.

It was remarkable to observe how well the girls supported each other as a team, both in practice and in game situations.

Regardless of their results, those who attended the tournament found the experience to be invaluable. Unlike many schools, we do not have access to volleyball courts or the usage of nets for practice. So, in preparation for the tournament, we C704FF" >

Since that time, we have purchased a beach volleyball net and some soft training balls. The tournament and this new equipment have inspired the girls at our school to play during lunch and recess intramural sessions. We would like to thank CAAWS and NIKE for their generous support. The money from this grant will be used to support the girls volleyball program in our school.
