Ontario remains unbeaten at Canadian
ringette championship

Prince George, B.C. (CP) - Ontario edged Quebec 5-4 at the Canadian ringette championship on Thursday to remain undefeated in the age 21-and-over class.

Sarah Miller from Lively, Ont., scored three goals, including the tying goal and overtime winner as Ontario improved to 6-0. In another game, B.C. doubled Manitoba 4-2 to improve to 2-4 behind second-place Alberta at 4-1.

In the 23-and-over division, Saskatchewan thumped host Prince George 8-1, B.C. edged Alberta 3-2 and Ontario beat Manitoba 2-1.

Quebec leads the division at 4-0 followed by Ontario at 3-1.

Ontario remained undefeated at 5-0 in the age 16-18 class with a 7-3 win over Saskatchewan. Alberta is 4-1 after a 3-1 victory over Manitoba and Quebec, 3-2, shut out Northwest Territories 7-0.

In the junior division, ages 14-15, Alberta leads the round-robin at 5-0 followed by Saskatchewan and Ontario at 4-1.

Quebec moved to 3-2 with a 4-1 win over Prince George and B.C. is also 3-2 after shuting down New Brunswick 7-0.

The round robin continues Friday with finals on Saturday.
