Hat Trick is a book about a girl named Leigh. She is 12 years old, and she is metis.

Leah plays on the Falcons hockey team. She is one of the best players on the team. She is the only girl on the team.

In chapter one Leigh is about to take a clear shot on net, but the captain of her team wants her to pass the puck to him so he can take the shot instead. He pushed Leah out of the way, sending the puck flying down the ice.

Leah tries to steady herself and ends up raising her stick. She gets called for high sticking and gets a two minute penalty. The other team scores and wins the game while Leah is in the penalty box.

Leah’s parents were split up. Her mom didn’t even know that Leah played on a hockey team because when she stayed with her mom, she went to native dancing classes. Her dad didn’t know she did native dancing because when she stayed with her dad he took her to hockey.

Leah has to miss lots of hockey practices whenever she stays with her mom. Coach Stevenson gets really mad at her for this. Leah wants to play in the NHL and she dreams at night about hockey.

Leah had a real problem because the final dance recital is at the same time as the final hockey tournament. How can they do that?

If you read the book you will find out how Leah’s life turns out. It is the best book I have ever read.
