Ringette
Association of Saskatchewan
Ringette is a fast-paced, non-contact,
team ice sport primarily played by females. Teams can ice
one goalie and five skaters, except in special situations
where teams can pull their goalie and place an extra skater
on the ice. Players use a straight stick to pass a rubber
ring. In Ringette, the ring must be passed over each blue
line, thus encouraging team play! Ringette was invented
by a Canadian, Sam Jacks in 1963.
