Become a Mothers in Motion Master Trainer

Application Deadline: Thursday, December 15, 2011

The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) is looking for twenty (20) keen women from across Ontario who would like to become Mothers in Motion Master Trainers.

About Mothers in Motion

Mothers in Motion is a national initiative aimed at moving, mentoring and motivating mothers to be physically active and adopt healthy eating practices for themselves and their families, from infancy to adolescence. Mothers who are active and lead a healthy active lifestyle are role models for their families, and their desire to keep moving, eat healthy and be involved in sport and physical activity will motivate their children to do the same.

With funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation until June 2013, CAAWS will be selecting and training twenty (20) women interested in becoming Mothers in Motion Master Trainers. Trainers will then deliver Mothers in Motion workshops across the province, support pilot projects in their region, and be champions for creating positive physical activity and healthy eating programs targeting mothers and their families.

Mothers in Motion workshops are interactive sessions with discussion relevant and appropriate for mothers, programmers, service providers and policy makers. The workshops also provide an opportunity for participants to network and discuss collaboration and local action to make a difference in the lives of mothers and families in their community.

Why become a Master Trainer?

As a Mothers in Motion Master Trainer, you will:

• Learn about the physical activity and healthy eating, experiences of mothers as well as creative solutions to address their barriers.

• Receive training on new Mothers in Motion resources and how to facilitate a successful workshop.

• Deliver or co-deliver Mothers in Motion workshops in your region between March-June 2012.

• Have the opportunity to coordinate and/or support Mothers in Motion pilot projects in your region.

I don't have time to go out and be active because I have so much laundry to do.
Solution

Instead of waiting until your basket is overflowing to sort the laundry, do it as you take off your clothes. Have two baskets - one for whites, and one for darks. This way you can just grab a basket and throw it in the wash on your way out the door.
