Breastfeeding

Being comfortable while breastfeeding (Accessories)

1. Sports Bra - A sports bra provides support, motion control, and a comfortable, snug fit during workouts.

2. Compression Bra - Compression bras are made in one piece and designed to fit over the head. Although they can be a good sports bra when you are not breastfeeding, they do not work well with nursing pads. The pads tend not to stay in place. This type of bra can be uncomfortable for women with larger breasts. Women with smaller breasts may find they are comfortable.

3. Encapsulated Bra - Encapsulated cups (made by Speedo, Wonder Bra) provide an individual cup for each breast. This gives more support to the breast and less movement of your breasts up and down (vertical displacement or jiggling). The result is less leaking of breast milk.

Breast pumps

When your daily life with baby gets a bit more hectic, you can still breastfeed.

Even when you increase your physical activity level or return to work, breastfeeding your baby is still possible. Thanks to breast pumps, you do not need to wean your baby from breastfeeding earlier than you wanted to or had planned.

Many breast pumping systems are being sold in stores and online. The pump that works best for you is the one that fits your unique lifestyle and how often you will be pumping.

Breast pumps and exercise

If you want to do more intense physical activities or return to the exercise training program you had before you became pregnant, a breast pump will allow you to do so AND to continue giving your baby your breast milk - the best nutrition possible.

You can use a pump to take milk from your breasts at a time that suits you. Refrigerate or freeze the milk and use it later. Breast pumps can also reduce the engorgement of your breasts, making it easier for you to exercise at a time that you want to, such as when an exercise class is scheduled.

More benefits to pumping and storing milk
Storing breast milk means that someone else (your partner, a family member, or a babysitter) can feed the baby, leaving you more time for physical activity, training, and other healthy activities.
