Public Places

Breastfeeding is the most natural way for a mother to nurture her baby. A baby needs to be fed on demand, and any place that a mother has a right to be with her baby, she also has a right to breastfeed. The Canadian Human Rights Commission has passed a law that upholds a woman’s right to breastfeed in public.

This Breastfeeding Friendly logo was developed by Health Canada and La Leche League Canada. You will see it printed and posted in places such as restaurants and public buildings to show that breastfeeding is welcome and encouraged.
