Canada dropped to 1-6 in the Olympic softball tournament after a 1-0 loss to China on
Saturday.Yan Fang had two hits and scored the only run as China raised its record to 5-2.
Zhang Yanqing struck out nine and allowed just two hits as Canada joined Cuba (1-6) in

Team Canada misses final at Canada Cup
Team Canada was eliminated by Team Texas by a close score of 2-1 in the second round of
the playoffs. Canada was ahead by one run after two and a half innings with the score 1-0.
The damage came in the bottom of the 5th inning when with 1out, Team Texas hit a single to
3rd, followed by a bunt out, hit another single to 3rd and with a hit to centrefield
