Jeason 2nd in Mount Washington Cycling World Cup
Genevieve Jeanson of Lachine, Que., finished second to defending Olympic champion Jeannie
Longo at the Mount Washington cycling road race on Saturday. Jeanson, who saw her event
record eclipsed by Longo, finished in a time of one hour 14 seconds. Longo, a native of
France, won the 12.2-kilometre race in 58:14, breaking Jeanson's record of 1:01:57, set

The friendly Queensland city of Rockhampton built a $200,000 training centre for the
Canadian rowing team. This is an even more stunning gesture when you realize that the

is the equivalent of a Montreal suburb paying for a Toronto Maple Leafs training arena. -

Blythe Hartley of North Vancouver, B.C., successfully defended her women's one-metre title
Wednesday at the world junior diving championships. Hartley, 19, totalled 400.57 points

Team Canada was eliminated by Team Texas by a close score of 2-1 in the second round of

3rd, followed by a bunt out, hit another single to 3rd and with a hit to centrefield

Australia defeated Canada 78-54 Friday to sweep a three-game women's basketball series.

Kristine Drakich collided with her partner in a tournament on Thursday. She had taken a

wins three gold in paddling
