The
2004 Paralympic Games: September 17th – 28th in Athens!
4,000 athletes, representing 143 countries in 19 sports, will participate
in the ATHENS 2004 Paralympic Games. The Paralympic Games are going
to take place from 17th to 28th September 2004. It is a top-level
sports event of equal value to that of the Olympic Games. The Canadian
team numbers 144 athletes from all 10 provinces who will compete in

returned home from the Sydney Olympic Games four years ago on their
shields. Fourteen medals, only three of them gold, was a crushingly
disappointing performance for one of the richest countries in the

Chantal Petitclerc of Montreal of Toronto qualified for her third
participation in the Olympic Games wheelchair racing demonstration
races, and Diane Roy of Hatley, Que. will also be in Athens next

Canada’s Women’s World Cup Team today failed to qualify
for the 2004 Olympics in Athens after a 2-1 upset by Mexico in the
semi-final of the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament in San Jose,
