Television coverage of the Paralympics Games is upcoming on the
CBC. In addition to the highlight package that the CBC made available
each day during the Games (and was picked up by TSN Sportsdesk,
Headline Sports, CTV Sportsnet and numerous national and regional

Paralympics finish
Canada capped the Paralympic Games yesterday with gold medals
in goalball and the wheelchair marathon. Canada finished fifth
in the medal standings with 96 -- 38 gold, 33 silver and 25 bronze.
Host Australia finished on top of the medal table with 149, followed
by Britain with 131, the United States at 109 and Spain with 107.

The 17-year-old Calgary swimmer won six gold medals in the Paralympic
Games, which wrapped up on Sunday. With each gold, she set
a world record. "I came into the meet with high expectations,
but fulfilling them is a really good feeling," said Sloan

wins wheelchair basketball gold
Canada won its third straight Paralympic gold medal in women's
wheelchair basketball Friday with a 46-27 win over Australia.
The Canadians won gold in Barcelona in 1992 and Atlanta
in 1996. Six of these Canadian team members were in Barcelona
and all but two were in Atlanta. Canada led by 10 point
at the half, playing before an announced sell-out at the SuperDome.

A nightmare day ended in silver Sunday for Caroline Brunet.
The world champion from Lac Beauport, Que., had to stew more

It wasn't the best day of Eryn Bulmer's life.The 24-year-old
diver from Calgary missed two of her five preliminary dives
during the women's three-metre springboard Wednesday, and sank

The Canadian women's basketball team finished 10th at the
Olympics after dropping a 67-58 decision to Cuba on Tuesday. Yamilet

to heal the wounds over the treatment of its 390,000 indigenous
