Environmental Scan
Report
To better understand what was currently in place for women 55-70
around physical activity and sport an environmental scan was conducted
in 2006. The environmental scan examined Canadian and international
programs, services, policies and research related to women 55-70
and physical activity. To collect this information extensive literature
and internet searches were conducted. Additionally requests for
information were sent through partner networks to find less publicized
initiatives that were taking place. This information has been consolidated
into a final report to be used to help direct resource development/consolidation
related to this project and to provide interested individuals with
examples they can implement.

On-Going Resource Collection
Do you know of any initiatives related to women aged 55-70 and physical
activity? If so, then we need to hear from you!
As part of an environmental scan we are looking for research, programs,
policies, activities, projects or resources related to physical
activity and women aged 55 – 70 or older adults aged 55 –
70, with our primary focus being women. Many of these initiatives
may be found in libraries or on the web, but many are not, so we
need your help to ensure the scan is as comprehensive as possible.
