Making Healthy Connections with Racialized Communities: Girls and Young Women’s Experiences with Sport, Physical Activity and Healthy Living (1 – 3.5 hours)
Ontario communities are becoming increasingly diverse, creating new challenges and opportunities for community sport and physical activity providers. Based on CAAWS’ newest publication, this workshop discusses the complexities of race, racialization and racism; explores findings from focus groups with racialized girls and young women, and service providers; and provides practical tips and ideas to enhance sport and physical activity programs and services.
