Canadian Sport for Life: Actively Engaging Women and Girls (1-3 hours)
Based on CAAWS’ Actively Engaging Women and Girls: Addressing the Psycho-Social Factors publication, this workshop examines the factors that enhance and inhibit the full participation of women and girls as participants and leaders across the CS4L stages. Success stories and practical recommendations for national/provincial/territorial sport organizations, coaches, community program leaders, educators/school administrators, and/or parents are provided as appropriate for the audience. Visit the Actively Engaging Women and Girls program for more information.
Girls and Women: Active Across the Lifespan (3 hours)
This interactive workshop explores common experiences that influence the sport and physical activity participation of girls and women across the lifespan, building on CAAWS’ On the Move, Mothers in Motion and Sport and Physical Activity for Women 55-70+ initiatives. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the social and systemic barriers that limit girls’ and women’s participation, and a number of valuable tools to enhance programs and services for all girls and women in their community.
