“Since 1981, CAAWS has been a crucial partner in establishing and advancing a sport environment where girls and women excel, not only in competition, but also as strong leaders in their communities,” said Allison Sandmeyer-Graves, CEO, Canadian Women & Sport. “As Canadian Women & Sport, our simple yet impactful new identity reinvigorates our platform as experts on gender equity and sport in the country. We are champions for girls and women in every arena and we are committed to building a better Canadian sport system – from the field of play to the boardroom.”

Canadian Women & Sport will continue to partner with sport organizations, governments, and leaders across the country, providing customized solutions, practical tools, and research to advance gender equity in a wide range of sport communities.

“This is an important new era and our new identity reflects our powerful mission,” said Nathalie Cook, Chair, Canadian Women & Sport. “We believe sport is made better through gender equity, and that we can achieve equity for women in society through the power of sport.”

The unveiling of Canadian Women & Sport’s new identity coincides with the organization’s upcoming special event, Using Your Power: How Can Individuals Advance Equity, on Thursday, March 5 in Ottawa. Featuring leaders in sport, equity and social change, the conversation will explore the role individual leaders can play in the movement for gender equity ahead of International Women’s Day.
