KeeponmovingTO

KeeponmovingTO is a weekly program for girls aged 6-16, delivered in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of East Scarborough. The goal is to build physical literacy to support life-long participation in sport and physical activity!

This initiative targets young women who have a negative perception of physical activity and attempts to reframe their attitudes of what an athlete could be by teaching them the basics. The result has been improved self-confidence and increased participation rates. The program has also evolved to transition young women who began as participants into program leaders and peer mentors.

Thank you Nova Scotia!
On March 27th, CAAWS and the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture, and Heritage hosted a Celebration of Women in Sport event in Halifax. We were inspired by the over 100 participants who joined us for an afternoon of learning through networking, breakout sessions and a panel discussion involving some of Nova Scotia's sport industry leaders!

The above image illustrates some of the key take-aways from the event. Thank you to all those who participated in the day!
